Welcome to Algonquin Day Hikers

We are two brothers who enjoy exploring the backcountry of Algonquin Provincial Park. This website provides detailed trip reports on day hikes we've made in the eastern and central parts of the Park. Most of these hikes involve an effort to retrace, or find signs of, the portages, trails and tote roads that appear on historic maps of the Park.

From sweeping vistas to hard-to-reach lakes and waterfalls, we share our experiences and explore the history of the Park. Join us on our journey and discover the beauty of Algonquin.

Hey guys!

Amazing and very ambitious trips! I found your site when I googled Dahlia Station and saw that we missed crossing paths by a couple of days.

I love visiting old ruins and relics in the park and like how you guys retrace old routes. I have enjoyed and read all your trip reports, and hope to see more in the future.

Thanks!

Thanks Malcolm. It's been a long winter so we are looking forward to getting into the backcountry again. We checked out snow depth in the eastern part of the park the other day (April 7) -- still lots of snow, so it will be a while yet.
